Playfulness and functionality are highlighted in this beautiful amalgamation of fun fabrics and pretty patterns. It’s also a room that will be relevant as the young lady grows up.

The alcove was improved with additional trim detail on the window seat, custom cushion and pillows, and faux roman shade as well as two sconces for the perfect night-time reading nook.

We added doors to the shelves above the desk to hide the clutter and we extended the height of the shelves on both sides of the window which adds more storage and increases the visual height of the room.

We selected a vibrant and colorful wallpaper, adding movement to the walls. The dusty blue on the headboard, footboard, shelves, and cabinets pairs beautifully with the candy apple red that adorns the pillows, drapery treatment, and window seat. These two colors can also be found in the wallpaper, enhancing the cohesion of the room.

Crown moulding and baseboards were painted to match the bed frame, shelves, cabinets, and built-in desk. The bed frame was changed and now features an arched headboard and footboard, matching the arch at the top of the mirror. These subtle similarities provide a sense of harmony and unity to the room.

The window was replaced and window trim was added, leaving a solid piece of glass and a flawless finish to the window.

Details such as florals on top of the mirror and a beautiful pattern on the back of the desk chair work diligently to provide extended cohesion throughout the room. The pattern on the back of the desk chair contains a similar color as the pillows and window seat, and has florals just like the mirror and the wallpaper. A horse statue on the night stand is the same color as the mirror frame, which brings both sides of the room together.

We decided to opt out of using a lamp to brighten the space, and instead chose to illuminate the room with mini chandeliers. The chandeliers, the mirror, and the horse, along with the base of the ceiling fan, work together to ground the room and adorn different aspects of it.

This room elevates pattern, reimagines color, and pushes the boundary of style. We thoroughly enjoyed redesigning this room and are extremely pleased with the final product and our young client said that she never wanted to leave her room.
