Our clients had installed new flooring and a new breakfast room light fixture so we kept those and created a plan to change everything else.
We added some custom features to update this basic kitchen. Here are the changes that were made:
Kept the base cabinets and replaced the doors and drawer fronts
Replaced the cabinet above the cooktop and created a new cabinet to extend to the ceiling and disguise the vent
Replaced the countertop and backsplash material
Removed the original island and replaced it with a custom island without the raised bar around the perimeter
Replaced the recessed lights with integrated recessed lights
Painted all cabinets, walls, and ceiling
Replaced the cabinet hardware
Replaced the sink and faucet
Moved the dishwasher to the right side of the island
Added a custom buffet cabinet to the breakfast room
Replaced the door to the back yard
Replaced the dining set with a round table and upholstered chairs
Sanded the skip trowel texture on the kitchen walls and sprayed a knock-down texture to match the living room walls
The new quartz countertops, marble backsplash, and cooktop are fresh and bright. We specified this beautiful marble backsplash to add elegance and a high-end touch. The countertops are budget-friendly and easy to maintain.
The new hood cabinet elevates the kitchen, literally! The hood extends to the ceiling and it breaks up the line of cabinets. Visually it’s more interesting and the vent is concealed. A little custom detail makes a big impact!
The new island with additional storage and a 6cm countertop edge is sleek and makes the space feel open without the raised bar.
The ends of the island include doors that conceal shelves and outlets.
Electronics can recharge behind the doors so that the countertop remains clear.
The kitchen was dark and dated.
A new dining table and chairs with a custom, built-in buffet complete the space. We arranged the clients’ existing accessories on the floating shelves for the perfect, personal touch.
