Contemporary Kids' Bathroom Remodel

bathroom-remodel

This was a typical tract home bathroom. The clients requested an additional sink so that each daughter could have her own. They mentioned a green vanity and needing some additional storage. Note the flush handle for the toilet; it’s black to match. All of the details matter!

Enjoy the before and after photos below!

The vanity was custom-built to look like furniture and include. sink for each daughter. It was painted a gray-green color so it is a neutral color that looks great with the gray floor tile but is also interesting. The mirrors are medicine cabinets to hold hair products, skin care products and any other small item that the girls can store to keep the counter clear.

All of the plumbing fixtures and hardware are black. The metal trim that lines the shampoo and soap/razor niches is also black. This black metal trim conceals the raw edges of the tile. We specified a white undulated subway tile. We did’t want the grout joints to contrast with the tile so we specified a white color. The tub is the only item that we did not replace for this bathroom remodel.

The hexagon tile is a great geometric shape for the floor. We specified a lighter colored grout so that the shape would be obvious. We like the contrast!

The girls like color so we brought in some teal-colored towels and art. The bathroom is sweet with a gown-up vibe that will be relevant as they grow up!
