Tasked with redesigning a young girl’s room, we created a space that exudes comfort and puts the fun in functionality.
Floor-to-ceiling shelves, multiple cabinets, and a built-in desk with additional drawers add room for storage and allow personal mementos to be exquisitely displayed. A cushioned headboard and footboard promote comfort and belonging, while a display of the child’s own artwork promotes individuality and importance.

Our team began with a spacious room that features an alcove with a large window and window seat. The goals for this room were to redesign the existing storage options, to elevate the space with vibrant colors, and to create dimension with exciting fabrics and patterns.
Custom upholstery for the desk chair, headboard, footboard, and drapery treatment above the window seat ties the room together and lends to the cohesiveness of the space.
A pale yellow paint was replaced with a bright bubble gum pink that illuminates the room-especially when the sun shines through the window.

A small nightstand provides space for a lamp and extra storage with two drawers.

This wall displays the artist’s artwork in a beautiful and effective manner.

A deeper pink for the dresser adds dimension to the room. The dresser is a vintage piece from the mother’s family that we had painted by a local tradesman who specializes in custom painting for furnishings.

Two sconces accent the alcove that houses the window seat. A buffalo check faux roman shade and an aqua window seat provide a sort of bookend effect, sandwiching the window in between them both. A motorized roller shade provides privacy.
We added additional shelves on both sides of the window seat. The ceiling feels higher and there is more storage space.
Our young client loves her “new” room and we do, too!
