Wylie Home Remodel Part 2

In this post, we share the before and after photos of the primary bathroom and the secondary bathroom.

When we saw the primary bathroom, it was not being used by the homeowners. The space was too small and did not function.

The clients gave us several goals:

  1. Two sinks for the vanity

  2. A walk in shower for two people

  3. A Japanese soaking tub

  4. A window

  5. A bright look and feel with a modern touch

That is no small challenge, right?! We love a challenge!

Before-The bathroom was so small and the vanity was short which was not comfortable for the homeowner since he is 6’3” tall.

Before-The bathroom was so small that when the shower door was open it hit the vanity. Needless to say, it was unusable.

Before-The tiny shower. It was too short for our tall client!

After-When you walk in to the new primary bathroom, you see the vanity across from the entry with the shower to the left and the closets to the right.

After-The new vanity has two sinks and a docking drawer with an outlet so that she can keep a hair dryer and curling iron plugged in.

After-Quartz countertops are easy to maintain and provide the look of marble.

Before-There was a space between the bathroom and the coset. It was wasted square footage that we incorporated into the new design.

After-The wardrobes are floor to ceiling and extend the length of the wall. We absorbed some of the primary bedroom to increase the size of the bathroom.

Before-The awkward and wasted space between the bathroom and closet.

Before-The closet

After-The closet is gone and there is a window and Japanese soaking tub in its place.

After-The tub and window are where the closet used to be.

The primary bathroom is functional and so bright and fresh!

Now let’s look at the secondary bathroom!

Here were the goals:

  1. Retexture the walls and ceiling

  2. Remove the flush-mount light fixture and add recessed ceiling lights

  3. Remove the heat lamp and the switches near the shower

  4. Replace everything!

  5. Give the bathroom a modern and fresh look

We got this!

Before-The bathroom was dated and worn.

After-The bathroom is refreshed! Everything is new and beautiful!

Before-You can see the original door from the ‘70s. The vanity is also original.

After-The bathroom is contemporary, fresh, and functional. The floor is made of porcelain tile that looks like wood. It is practical and beautiful. The trick is to select a grout color that blends well with the tile. Can you see the outlet that is built in to the vanity? We moved it from the wall to the vanity for function and aesthetics. This vanity is also taller than the original one.

After-The rectangular sinks look contemporary and the single lever faucets are easy to use for children.

After-We included two niches. One niche is for easy reach when bathing and one is for easy reach when showering.

We accomplished all of our goals for these bathrooms! We are happy with the results and the clients are happy, too! If you would like to see the kitchen and living room remodel for this home, click here:
