What Makes a Design Charming?

Charming...can design be charming? Yes, absolutely, yes, design can be charming. What does that mean? I have thought about this and when I was working on my tagline and thinking about my business and my designs I thought about color, character, whimsy, details, light-hearted, unique, antique, vintage, and fun! To me, all these characteristics equal charming. Really, charming is in the details and the overall feel of the home.OK, how about a few visual aids?You might not think that a shiny sequin pillow would work with a traditional English chair but it adds a bit of whimsy and CHARM!Dallas-Interior-Designer-lavener-gray-grey-romantic-Plano-Allen-McKinney-Fairview-Bedroom-Web2 This is a vintage (maybe not so vintage but that sounds fancier than previously owned) milk glass lamp with a lamp shade from Target! How cute is this combination for a baby nursery?! Mixing old and new is Charming!milk-glass-lamp-piggy-bank-nursery-WEB-26 The quickest way to change the look of a dresser is to paint it and replace the hardware. This happened to be a new dresser but we customized it with paint, crystal knobs, and overlays (the pretty white designs).
