How to Create a Romantic Master Bedroom
Seven steps to creating a romantic master bedroom are here! The master bedroom is a place for rest and rejuvenation. If you want a calm, peaceful and romantic master bedroom here are my tips!1. Select a monochromatic color palette. Pick any color that you like and very the shade of that color. Or, pick two analogous colors (two colors that are right next to each other on the color wheel). You can also mix in cream, white, gray, and other soft, light neutrals. There should be little contrast between colors in the room for a more relaxing look.2. The fabrics should include prints with movement such as damask and scroll prints.3. Select fabrics made of silk or silk blends, linen or linen blends, and cotton.4. Install a dramatic chandelier with cascading beads or crystals.5. A tall and dramatic headboard lends to the romantic feel of the bedroom. It should be carved and ornate with or without upholstery.6. Mirrors that reflect light and that have a curved shape are very romantic.7. Also for extra elegance, romance and luxury keep fresh, cream colored roses on the bedside table or dresser. Here is an image of a romantic master bedroom that we designed for a special client. It has a monochromatic color palette of lavender and includes the neutrals, gray, cream, and ivory. The fabrics are made of linen and cotton and they are soft and durable as well as washable which is great when you have children and pets. The bedside lamps are made of mercury glass and are topped with a bell shaped lamp shades. The soft curves add to the romantic and feminine feel in this room.
