Baby Girl Nursery Ideas-Faith's Room Part 2
I began this blog series and shared that my best friend, Annette (and her husband!), is adopting a baby girl. This blog series is dedicated to her and her baby and the very special nursery design.Annette waited a long time to meet Mr. Right and married him at the age of 37. He is a wonderful husband and father to his three grown children. What Annette didn't know when she got married is that she went through menopause at a very early age. She would struggle through years of infertility and grief and come to a place of acceptance. She and her husband have and still take in children through the foster system and they love each and every one. I will share more of her story next time!We are well on our way with the design plans for baby Faith's nursery! I want to share my inspiration for the walls with you today.Annette and I talked about wall color and decided that blue would be perfect. It's cool, refreshing, soothing, and not as expected as pink walls would be. We also thought it would be less babyish and would last past the toddler years. It's not bright so I would say it is a more sophisticated blue for a baby girl and perfectly feminine, too! This is Sherwin William's Mountain Air.Faith's room is small and the ceiling is 8' tall so in order to make the room feel more expansive, we are going to paint the closet doors to match the wall color. I say "we" but Annette's husband will do the painting. He's handy like that! Then once, Mr. RIGHT has painted the walls, I will make a trip to VA to paint some wavy lines on the walls. Like this. This is what I saw in my imagination and I will have to create a template. We'll see how that goes! I want something soft and delicate that will not overpower the fabrics and wall art. I want something interesting and feminine; so the waves will be painted with a small brush in a watercolor look. The wavy lines will not be perfectly painted lines but the waves will have a natural, hand made look.Check back next week for more details and the big reveal in August!
