Giclee Prints
The Design Expression for this week is giclee prints! I am always looking for awesome wall art for my clients. Often times I select giclee prints because I can find just about anything for small and large budgets and they are beautiful. I like this giclee, The Strand from Benson-Cobb Studios.According to Wikipedia, "Giclée (/ʒiːˈkleɪ/ zhee-klay or /dʒiːˈkleɪ/) is a neologism coined in 1991 by printmaker Jack Duganne for fine art digital prints made on inkjet printers.[1] The name originally applied to fine art prints created on IRIS printers in a process invented in the late 1980s but has since come to mean any inkjet print. It is often used by artists, galleries, and print shops to suggest high quality printing but since it is an unregulated word it has no associated warranty of quality.[2]"Giclee prints come in a variety of sizes, colors and subject matter. You can find reproductions from well known artists for a pretty penny or some very inexpensive prints for any budget. Shop at HomeGoods, Neiman Marcus, Overstock, Wayfair, Williams Sonoma-Home and Lamps Plus!Did I mention that they are light weight and easy to hang? Yep, another bonus. I used giclee prints often when I staged vacant homes because they are easy to store, transport and hang. Here is a selection giclees with a variety of subjects and artists.Clockwise
